Most pundits and the commentators will talk about the poor defending and I suppose that is true, but the biggest problems I see is the lack of talent in attack. The passing is terrible, Werner is not good enough to play for the NT, none of the attackers look good, barely putting 3 passes together. I mean come on, Toni Kross is Germany's top scorer at the moment. I will say the defenders are not very good at moving the ball out from the back.
I dont know if the Nmecha guy is the answer, but Germany need a good striker
lol, Spain lost to Ukrania, so this German team that can not put 3 passes together, still have a real chance to win the group.

Big result this round was England - Denmark 0-1 with another McGuire masterclass. With this, Denmark is very close to securing Pot 1 for
the WCQ draw.
With current seedings a Nordic-only group is possible.
As usual, a former Yugoslavia group is also possible

Serbia
Bosnia-Herzegovina
Montenegro/Slovenia/North Macedonia

Oh dear, it never ends, we are stuck with another international break, will these international breaks ever stop??? Seems like we had one just a few weeks ago, it is so bad that I saw some Scottish players crying about having to play this week! Oh the humanity!!!
Actually some interesting games today.
France v Portugal is probably a preview of the Euro 21 final. Spain and Germany are somehow still leading their group, though I get the feeling one or both might slip today. One thing that stood out for me in the line ups is that Spain have left "best keeper in the world deGea" and Kepa on the bench and are giving Unai Simon(?) his first cap.
Like Spain, Germany is sort of in a rebuild stage right now

Hungary looked impressive in their 1-0 win over Turkey on Thursday, even if Turkey did field a bit of an experimental team. Wonderful free kick goal from Dominik Szoboszlai, Hagi or Beckham would have been proud of that.
Based on what I saw I'd fancy Hungary to get through the playoffs and qualify for Euro 2020(1).

RSS's collective mind sucked at predicting the playoffs, but this was a good call!
If anyone of you have had difficulties emotionally connecting with watching the bigger teams in empty stadiums I can warmly encourage you to watch Nations League D (and some of the smaller C team) matches, you may find them a breath of fresh air.OK, I am trying to see if this theory works. I was watching the wee Scots play Slovakia ( I think both qualified for Euro 20-1 in the midweek), now, I was watching this on a wee phone, so it is not the same. Actually, it is kind like playing an old hand held computer game, bunch of little un-distinguishable figures you canit control, chasing a small white ball like thing.

Pretty surprised to see Slovakia and Turkey go down. Hard to believe
they won't come back up at first time of asking, given the opposition in C.

Made a couple of mistakes there below Austria. Must have lost focus.

If everything in the groups shapes up according to paper, Slovenia and Montenegro are first in line to get the two additional spots.
It's not a guess but calculable. So it's actually the Czech Republic and Hungary who are in the Pole Position. This is based on your best guess of the FIFA rankings ?
They are using the one at the end of November for seeding, right ?Yes, and the only match left that hasn't been officially resolved yet (SUI-UKR) won't
make a difference.

Ciao,Impressive how much strength in depth UEFA has these days. There are some decent sides even in pots 3 and 4. Portugal, Switzerland, Russia and Bosnia could be in a group together. Or Croatia, Sweden, Hungary and Slovenia. Those would be hard groups to call.

Still, it seems to me there is a strategic benefit to being in a lower league in that you have a better chance of winning the group and thus earning the lifeline of a European Championship qualifying playoff.

And now the big deal in the news today is Zverev, who won his match and it
is now either him or Djoko to make the semifinal. Both are beatable, but very strong on their night. Still, advantage Djoko (unless there is an injury).
Novak even got a question about it on the press conference after the match. Good thing he won, weekend will be much more interesting.
and is a favourite to win the whole thing. Him and Nadal in the Final?
I don't know, seems like a toss up, especially if you look at recent Djokovic-Thiem matches
and if Medvedev beat Djokovic, he can certainly beat Nadal.
Rafa still doesn't have this title and Novak could tie Roger's 6 titles.
