You would rather complain and discuss the 'failings' of others (whatever that means) than cheer me on. It blows me away.

I thought it would be a fun little hobby - something that could occupy a few hours a week for at least the next year. A reformatted gazette would require a community to consume it, unfortunately. Clearly, this doesn't exist here. It's blatantly obvious that the "community" part got sucked out of many of you years ago. It's tough to see, honestly. My wife read the comments and she asked me, 'why are you talking to these people?' Great question.

You certainly sucked the interest out of me though. I wonder why the negative nancy's are here at all. You seem to hate it here.

You will be glad to know that I will not be reviving the fidogazette nor will I be visiting this echo again.

not really sure if you expected a parade or what. this hobby is filled with so many people who show up expecting fanfare for their new project, only to
    disappear shortly thereafter.

if you want to revive it do it for yourself, not because it feels good that
we all pat you on the back.

Well, let's see. I've added several new features/enhancements to my BBS
in the last few days. Also just today I replaced my kitchen sink, with
great success. Not a trivial task, that, and not cheap. Sinks/faucets
are ridiculously expensive. This weekend I intend to pay somebody to put
new tires on my wife's car.

Is that enough? Why do you ask?

I did not really think he was looking for a parade. Criticism of ideas is
to be expected, but not some of the pissing he got here.

if you want to revive it do it for yourself, not because it feels good that we all pat you on the back.

I agree. That said, from some of the responses here, you'd think that
reviving the Gazette was going to do serious harm to the responders in some way. "People have tried it before and it didn't go well, so manage your expectations and good luck" would have been enough.

I don't even know where you're getting this garbage. The original point
was that some guy asked how to contact somebody; was given multiple good answers, including by *ME*; but threw a hissy because he wasn't handed
the requested info on a silver platter. Rather, he was asked to do
basic research/work that should be expected in that scenario. He didn't
want to be bothered with that, and took his ball and went home. At that point, I made the comment above about society's efforts showing.

Then, you show up and start asking me "what I bring to the table". This
isn't a politics echo and that shit isn't needed here. My answers to
him were complete, correct, and appropriate. My reaction to his hissy
fit was possibly a little strong, maybe even a little political, but I
don't think it was too excessive. All of a sudden you're using words
like mysogyny and blame, which doesn't really make any sense.

Just stick to cooking and maybe you'll be happier.

So in other words, you can dish it out, but you can't take it. You seem suddenly sensitive, for someone who casually tosses out pejoratives.
When someone "takes their ball and goes home" they are a weakling.

Ahhh, so you're one of those who likes to snip out all the context of
the other person's post, so that yours seems to make more sense.
It's a very common tactic from those who know they can't win an
argument. You clipped out all the logical statements that I made
regarding what *actually* happened with the OP, and (continue) trying
to make this political. Okay, we're done here.
